ROTARY LAUNCHES A BIGGER 2010 COMMUNITY RAFFLE
Whitsunday regional community groups that have not already been allocated tickets and are looking for a good fundraising opportunity are being encouraged to apply for tickets in the 2010 Rotary Club of Airlie Beach Community Raffle.
The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach will launch its annual community fundraiser with the release of 14,000 $5 tickets.
The unique element to the Rotary Raffle is that 100% of the value of each ticket is retained by the organisation which sells it. “For instance, if an organisation sells 200 tickets – they earn $1000”.
From the 2009 Raffle community groups in the region generated $44,440 for their activities, which was a record for the eight years the Raffle has been run. With extra tickets being printed and issued this year it is expected that ticket sales will again increase to generate additional funds for the community.
The 2010 prizes have been upgraded in value by more than 25% in total, and include:
1st - A ten day trip for two with Kimberley Discovery Cruises with air transfers paid to and from Broome and additional accommodation between arrival and departure from the cruise (two nights accomm before and after) also paid for as part of the prize.
The total prize value will be around $13,500
2nd - $7000 Cash
3rd - $5000 Home Theatre System from Harvey Norman.
4th to 9th Consolation prizes include – Accommodation on Long Island, Cruise Whitsunday transfers, FantaSea Cruises Reef trip, Airlie Beach Hotel accommodation, Fish de Vine meals.
The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach thanks Kimberley Discovery Cruises, Harvey Norman, FantaSea Cruises, Cruise Whitsunday, Long Island, Fish de Vine, Airlie Beach Hotel for their generous support of this year’s raffle.
Ticket sales close on 2nd June and the raffle will be drawn on Monday 21 June. As an added incentive for organisations to participate in the raffle, the Rotary Club of Airlie Beach will give a cash donation of $1,000 to each of the organisations selling the first, second and third prize winning tickets providing the organisation has a representative in attendance at the draw.
